Knitted Bunting

Knitted Bunting

This bunting is knitted entirely in garter stitch – that’s knit every row.  You can knit this with any wool using needles that are suitable for the thickness of wool you are using.  This will make different sized bunting depending on the wool and needles you are using.

Cast on 20 stitches.
*Knit 3 rows.
Knit two together at the beginning and end of this row and every 4th row.*
Continue from * to * until only 2 stitches remain.
Knit 2 together.
(37 rows in total)
Break off yarn and thread through final stitch to finish off.
Weave in the ends.

Making up

Knit as many pennants as you want in your bunting.  Odd numbers are best.  I've knitted five here.  You can then crochet a cord and add each pennant in as you go along or thread some cord through them or stitch them to some ribbon - whatever method takes your fancy!

Then step back and admire your bunting!

Hang out your bunting & admire!
